About the NCRCHA
The NCRCHA has
seen steady growth since it was founded in 2001. In the past three years,
our membership has almost doubled. We have seen entries at our club shows
increase 14% from 2006 to 2007.
The NCRCHA is
expected to be 250+ members strong in 2008. We expect continued growth in
the future. We offer several events throughout the year including training
clinics, AQHA approved special events, jackpots, and our Fall Futurity/Derby
with added money. In 2007, we moved our Fall Futurity/Derby to the Red
Horse Ranch Arena in Fergus Falls, MN, one of the top equine facilities in
the upper Midwest. This move brought in participants from Minnesota,
Nebraska, Wyoming, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Montana,
Colorado, and Iowa. This was a nationally sanctioned Futurity, Derby,
Stallion Stakes and AQHA Special Event.
The objective
of our Association is to provide fun “working cow horse” opportunities for
all ages and levels of experience and to promote breeders of cow and
performance horses, as well as, preserving the tradition of the western
working horse. Our events are attended by trainers, riders and horses from
all of the major equine associations – NRCHA, NRHA, NCHA, AQHA, APHA, ApHC.
Each paid
membership receives The Wrangler magazine as part of their membership. We
submit articles, with pictures, twice a month to the Wrangler. The articles
provide information, upcoming events, and recaps of events to our members.
We also advertise in the Working Horse. We send out 4-6 newsletters a year
to our members. We also have a web site to keep members and spectators
up-to-date with events, show results, and club information.
Whether you choose to participate at a competitive level or just want to
learn more about the industry, our mission is to meet your needs.
